Diana A. Erba,

Executive Director

**Celebrating 30 Years of Teaching at Day-After-Day**

Diane has been with Day-After-Day since 1979. She started as the Head Teacher and became Executive Director in 1983. She grew up in Newton, and is a graduate of Newton South High School. Diane holds a Master’s degree in Higher Education and Administration from Boston College and an Undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Rhode Island College. During the course of Diane's career she has been a coed resident camp Director at Camp Nawaka in the Berkshires of Massachusetts. Diane also worked at Boston College with a Senior/Freshman mentoring program (48 Hours). She is very fortunate and proud that she has had opportunities to work within the entire educational spectrum, from Kindergarten to College/Graduate students.

 

 

 

 

Bill Young,

Program Coordinator


Bill has been with D.A.D. since1993. He served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Italy. Prior to joining the D.A.D. teaching staff he taught Art in Bermuda and at St Clement High School. He is responsible for the Annual Haunted House, the D.A.D. Basketball Tournament, our Chess Club and coordinating activities for our students 8-12 years old. He also designs and constructs the backdrop and sets for our Annual Musicals. In addition to D.A.D. he is a counselor, basketball and volleyball coach for the Cambridge Program for Individuals with Special Needs. During the summer Bill is the C.I.T. and Arts Director at Fessenden Day Camp.

Lauren Gallagher, Kindergarten Coordinator

Lauren Gallagher went through the Newton Public School system and graduated from Newton North High School (NNHS) in 2000. She then continued to Northeastern University earning a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration in 2005. During her studies at Northeastern she completed her Business Co-op  working in San Francisco, CA. Lauren is also an Alumni of D.A.D. and attended the program from Kindergarten to 6th grade. She has been with the full-time teaching staff since 2006.  Lauren has been dancing for 23 years and with her Dance Studio she will be performing a pre-game show in April at a  Boston Celtics game. Lauren utilizes her Music and Choreography skills which are showcased annually with our Musicals. She also created our Hip Hop Dance Club which includes all ages of children and will perform at the Horace Mann Talent Show.

Matt Vello,

Sports Specialist

Matt Vello went through the Newton Public Schools and graduated from Newton North in 2001, he is also an Alum of D.A.D.  Matt has been a member of the Full time teaching staff since September 2003. He is in charge of  our Athletics Program and is part of the design and construction team for our Annual Musicals and Haunted House. He recently acquired his EMT Certification from Boston University and is also pursuing a career as a Newton Firefighter. When hired by the Newton Fire Department he will continue to work with us at Day-After-Day part time.  

 

Justine Neeson,

Part Time Teacher

Justine grew up in Newton and went through the Newton Public School system. After graduating from Newton North in 2001 she attended Wheelock College and received a degree in Elementary Education. Upon graduating from Wheelock she went to Barcelona, Spain and received a TEFL Certification and went on to teach English for several months in Spain. Justine is  in her second year at Horace Mann working as a Behavior Therapist in the Inclusion program. She plans to pursue her Masters in Special Education. This is her first year working at Day-After-Day.

Greg Mann,

Part Time Teacher


Gregory Mann is a product of the Newton Public Schools, but more importantly he is a Day-After-Day Alum.  He attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst where he received a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Spanish. Greg is in his second year working at Horace Mann as an Inclusion Assistant. While at UMASS, Greg studied abroad for a Semester in Sevilla, Spain. At Day-After-Day Greg has started a successful soccer league and his Puzzle Club "Pieces Together"  complete a 1000 piece puzzle each year and also 1 photo mosaic puzzle. Greg has been with the Day-After-Day teaching staff since his High School Years.

 

Ed Pendergast,

Part Time Teacher

 

Ed has been with Day-After-Day since 2006. This year he started a successful 3 on 3 Football League. He has also been a lunch monitor at Horace Mann for many years. He is a proud Father of two current Horace Mann students, and his oldest daughter attends Newton North. In addition to being a Part Time member of our teaching staff, he is a Corrections Officer for the Massachusetts Prison System.

Assistant Teachers
The D.A.D. student aides are an integral part of our staff. All of our aides are alumni of the program. They serve as aides to the teachers and as role models for the D.A.D. children.
